To help you become a professional leader with strong writing skills, this digital learning experience will guide you through the fundamentals of excellent writing.  Your journey will begin with essentials related to grammar and sentence construction.  As you progress through the units, you will sequentially build your skills to applying punctuation correctly and writing in a scholarly voice.  The end goal of this entire journey is that you will have the fundamentals you need to be a successful writer in your graduate program and also as a working professional in today’s competitive market.  Employers value workers with solid writing skills who are confident with using writing fundamentals.  Therefore, this experience will equip you in several ways for your future.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the RUwrite learning experience, you will master the following:

Utilizing parts of speech correctly when writing sentences
Applying strategies for structuring solid sentences, including avoiding fragment construction and building sentences with parallel structure
Analyzing writing for punctuation errors and integrating correct punctuation in your writing
Identifying the components of scholarly voice (i.e., active voice, strong word choices) and successfully integrating them into your writing
